CAEPIPE and CAEPIPE 3D+ Version 15.10
CAEPIPE and CAEPIPE 3D+ Version 15.10
ASME B31.9 code is updated to ASME B31.9 (2025). Refer to the Piping Code Compliance Section titled ASME B31.9 (2025) in CAEPIPE Code Compliance Manual for details.
Added the following legacy ASME B31 piping codes with the option to calculate "Stress Intensification Factors (SIFs)" and "Flexibility Factors (FFs)" using either "Appendix D" or "ASME B31J". Refer to the respective "Piping Code Compliance" sections in the CAEPIPE Code Compliance Manual for details.
ASME B31.1 (2018)
ASME B31.3 (2018)
ASME B31.4 (2019)
ASME B31.9 (2017)
ASME B31.12 IP (2019)
ASME B31.12 PL (2019)
CAEPIPE can now be used for piping/tubing analysis under different gravitational environments, enabling analysis on Earth, Space Stations, Satellites and other Planetary bodies such as the Moon and Mars. See the Analysis section in the CAEPIPE User's Manual for more information.
Included a new Autodesk's REVIT Add-In with CAEPIPE 3D+ to import piping layouts from REVIT MEP Systems and Fabrication Systems through the PCF format. Refer to the CAEPIPE 3D+ for PCF section in the CAEPIPE 3D+ User's Manual for additional information.
New feature is added to compute Maximum Loads and Soil Restraints for buried piping using the American Lifelines Alliance (ALA 2001) methodology in addition to the default CAEPIPE method. Refer to the American Lifelines Alliance (ALA) section in the CAEPIPE Code Compliance Manual for details.
Introduced a new Sustained Oper (W+P) load case that re-runs the Sustained Analysis using the status of Resting Supports (i.e., Vertical Limit Stops) at the end of iterations for Operating 1 load case (W+P1+T1). This option is available through Layout Window > Loads > Load Cases. With this enhancement, CAEPIPE now supports up to 120 load cases and Support Load Summary for more than 310 load combinations.
New feature is added to show Wind/Wave Direction in Graphic Screen. This can be performed through Layout Window > Loads > Wind/Wave > Show.
Enhanced the print routine to automatically include Stress Layout Graphics, Stress Plots, Stress Ratio Plots, and Deflection Plots, simplifying the generation of comprehensive stress analysis reports.
Added a log file for components that do not satisfy the EN 13480-3 or ASME B31J requirements for SIF calculations. Instead of displaying individual dialog boxes, CAEPIPE now generates a log file in the same folder as where the model is stored.
New feature is added to detect Location cards that reference to nodes not present in the piping layout. This feature can be accessed through Layout Window > Misc > Check Locations.
The "Refine Nodal Mesh" for “Buried Piping” and “Dynamic Analysis” has been enhanced. Additionally, when a pipe element connects to a bend or jbend, the refinement is now based on the distance measured from the face of the bend or jbend to the preceding node.
Improved the Multi-Split command to divide pipe elements more accurately. When a bend or jbend follows a straight pipe, the segment between the previous node and the near face of the bend is split into equal-length sections based on the specified number of splits.
New feature is added to exclude Snow & ICE data from the Print routine when it is not included in the analysis.
Enhanced CAEPIPE 3D+ for PCF to prevent unintended pipe merging when a support node is located between two closely spaced long pipes and the angle between the pipe start point and the support node is less than 1°.
Enhanced CAEPIPE 3D+ for PCF to correctly transfer Material Descriptions containing embedded blank spaces from the PCF file to the CAEPIPE model.
MBF format is updated to be compatible with CAEPIPE Version 15.10. See Appendix A of CAEPIPE User’s Manual for details.
CAEPIPE User’s Manual, Technical Reference Manual, Code Compliance Manual and Verification Manual have been enhanced and updated to be in line with the software version 15.10. These Manuals can be downloaded from the link www.sstcae.com/caepipe-docs.
Bug Correction: While refining the nodal mesh for “Buried Piping” or “Dynamic Analysis,” the program was inserting rows that lacked node numbers and offset values (DX, DY, and DZ) whenever the newly generated node number exceeded 99999.
Bug Correction: Merging the models that contain multi-level/uniform response spectrum with same name in both the stress models was issuing "Access Violation".
Bug Correction: Axial force and Bolt Circle data are not shown in Flange Report Display and Output to Printer when the Flange Equivalent Pressure is computed as per EN 13480-3.
Bug Correction: Additional Weight input in the Load is not printed properly in the output (TXT and Hardcopy Print).
Bug Correction: Opening the results file multiple times without closing CAEPIPE caused the Resultant Force and Resultant Moment values in the Nozzle Support Load Summary to change unpredictably. The reported values now remain consistent regardless of how many times the results file is opened.
Bug Correction: Buried Soil Restraints corresponding to Operating1 (W+P1+T1) were used for Operating3 (W+P3+T3) load case from CAEPIPE Versions 7.00 through 15.00.
